"In designing this Logo consideration was given to the vital and growing effects the sun has on all aspects of a healthy and prosperous life. Here, it is represented in a loose design by the Swirl in traditional sun yellow colour. Under the swirl are two stripes. The red stripe represents the earth of the South Burnett, while the green represents the foliage and crops that make the region so famous and bountiful."

The award-winning Lake Boondooma Caravan and Recreation Park, located 20kms north of Proston, is a drawcard for anglers, campers, bird-watchers and water-sports enthusiasts. The dam was purpose-built in 1983 to provide a water supply to the Tarong Power Station. In recent years, under the careful direction of the former Wondai Shire Council and now the South Burnett Regional Council, it has been developed into a major regional recreation area where the fishing is excellent and amenities second to none.
Over 200,000 fingerlings are released annually into the dam, with main species being golden perch (yellowbelly), silver perch and Australian bass. Anglers like fishing here because all fishing methods work - from bait fishing for perch, cod and catfish in the snags along the rockwalls, chasing bass in the main basin with shrimp and worm baits; the use of lures for both edge fishing and over the broad flats, and even deep-fly tactics. Lake Boondooma is considered one of the most consistent inland fishing spots in Queensland.
A very popular Yellowbelly Fishing Competition is held on the second weekend of February each year. A stocked impoundment permit (obtainable from the kiosk) is needed to fish.
Accommodation available includes 5 fully self-contained, air-conditioned cabins with lake views, a bunkhouse, powered caravan sites (“Lookout” and “Lakeside Terraces”) and water’s edge camping sites.
There are excellent amenities, hot showers and laundry facilities. The kiosk sells basic food items, yummy icecreams, bait and tackle and ice. Fuel (including diesel) and oil are available. Boat ramps, pontoon, camp kitchen, wood and electric BBQs and playground equipment ensure a fun time for every member of the family.
