Planning Searches

The purpose of the planning and development certificate is to provide information applicable to specific premises on planning scheme provisions, infrastructure charges or agreements and development approvals.

Council offers various types of planning searches as listed below.

Limited Planning and Development Certificate (five (5) working days)

(Recommended when purchasing a structure or vacant land)

Provides a general overview of the property zone and establishes whether there are any special management overlay areas, which may affect the property.

Standard Planning and Development Certificate (ten (10) working days)

(Recommended when purchasing a business)

In addition to the information contained in a Limited Certificate, it also contains current decision notices and negotiated decision notices, deemed approvals, continuing approvals, compliance permit or certificate, permissible changes, judgements or orders, agreements and infrastructure agreements.

Full Planning and Development Certificate (thirty (30) working days)

(Recommended when purchasing a business)

In addition to the information contained in the Limited and Standard Certificate, it also contains either the fulfilment or non-fulfilment of each condition, any prosecution offence, details about securities and whether monies are outstanding, outstanding obligations under infrastructure agreements.
