Let’s Go South Burnett Workshop to be held at South Burnett Unpacked 4

A Workshop will be held at South Burnett Unpacked 4, Wednesday 8 August 2018, to discuss Council’s Let’s Go South Burnett publication.

Cr Potter said, “The Let’s Go South Burnett Workshop is a valuable opportunity for Council to gain insight and feedback regarding the publication and we welcome all interested parties to participate.”

Let’s Go South Burnett is part of Council’s new destination marketing strategy, implemented following breaking away from Southern Queensland Country Tourism (SQCT) Membership. Funds previously allocated to SQCT have now been channeled into three (3) key destination marketing activities under the Discover South Burnett brand:

  1. A Discover South Burnett stand at the Sunshine Coast Caravan and Camping Show
  2. A three (3) month PR consultancy
  3. Let’s Go South Burnett publication

Of the original $60K budget set aside for SQCT membership, an amount of $54,510 has been expended with the publication being the highest individual cost at $24,450.  The publication has been distributed at Regional Flavours and inserted in the Sunshine Coast Daily newspaper (26 July & 11 August 2018). Council’s new strategy has enabled the development of measurement benchmarks, with activity measuring 48,171 touches ($1.12 per touch) and over 3 million impressions (> $0.02 per impression). 

Since its release, Let’s Go South Burnett has attracted a variety of comments and any further recommendations from the South Burnett Unpacked 4 Workshop will assist Council with future activities and campaigns.  To attend South Burnett Unpacked 4, please RSVP to Stacey Perrett ( or Sarah Schloss (
