"In designing this Logo consideration was given to the vital and growing effects the sun has on all aspects of a healthy and prosperous life. Here, it is represented in a loose design by the Swirl in traditional sun yellow colour. Under the swirl are two stripes. The red stripe represents the earth of the South Burnett, while the green represents the foliage and crops that make the region so famous and bountiful."

Grants and Funding
The second round of Council's Community Assistance Grants for 2009 opens 1 August. South Burnett Regional Council encourages applications from not-for-profit organisations based within the region whose events and projects benefit our residents. The program has three strands of funding:

Major Event or Project - Funding of up to $10 000 per organisation in support of major cultural and/or community events or projects.

Minor Event and Project - Funding of up to $4 000 per organisation in support of cultural and community events or projects.

Elite Performance Grant - Funding in support of elite performers in the areas of sport, music, art and education.
The amount of funding available in this round is $45 000. The number of eligible applications received will be a determining factor in grant allocations. Applicants should check their eligibility before submitting applications.
