Plumbing Services

Any Plumbing work carried out within South Burnett Regional Council must be approved by Council and this work includes but is not limited to:

  • New Dwellings / Duplex-units
  • Commercial  Development
  • Shop fit outs
  • Alterations to Dwelling or Commercial Property
  • Resiting of Houses into the Council area
  • Disconnection to Council Sewer
  • Disconnection to House Hold Treatment Plants (HSTP) and Septic Systems.
  • Connection to Water Services
  • Disconnection to Water Services
  • Swimming Pools (both in-ground & above-ground)

Pools require a Plumbing Application when the proposed pool filter requires backwashing and this backwash process goes to the Council sewer.  If the Pool does not require backwash a Form 4 is required to be submitted to Council for the installation of a Dual Check Valve fitted by a Licensed Plumber.

All plumbing application documents (3 copies) are separate to any Building application lodgements with 3 copies

Service Records for HSTP servicing are required by Council as part of the owner's contract conditions.

Businesses wishing to discharge trade waste into council's sewer require a "Trade Waste Permit". These are obtained by contacting Council's Water and Wastewater Department on 07 - 4171 6800.

Council wishes to remind handymen that it is illegal to do regulated plumbing work without a licence, please check with Council if you are unsure of any detail.
